video game console, multiplayer gameEvery gamer has a favorite genre of play style they go to when the chips are down. For me it is the modern day first person shooter. Since my first video game console, these have been my favorite type of digital experiences. There is something about having the direct view of the character that pulls me deeper into the experience. 3rd person action games are cool to but they always feel more arcade to me. Not a bad thing especially since there are countless 3rd person shooters out for sale online that are very real. But being right there in the action seeing it from the eyes of a fictional character as it happens helps me become drawn into a storyline.

Obviously, a bad game in this view is no fun. It seems like nowadays major developers of the first person shooter hardly ever come out with a lackluster multiplayer game. The formula for success is there, it just about bringing gamers into a new landscape and story. There have been a couple of racers and sports titles who really made me think twice about what my favorite video game console poison is.
