video game console, ps2 gameWhen I think back to what the video game console was as a kid to what we have now it is like comparing apples to oranges. They both taste good and are fruit but in all other respects are different. Over the evolution of the video game console, many milestones were achieved. Creating the first replayable shooter in split screen mode was one of them and then in game cinematics and today we can game at any hour against people from around the world. Obviously, the graphics have become much crisper but that doesn’t make a great game. At times, I still ride the PS2 game wave. The graphics don’t compare to the new stuff selling on digital store shelves but the fun factor can.

Every video game console set a precedent as to what gamers have come to expect. For me, PS2 games are still relevant because they began the open environment experience, lengthy single player campaigns and storylines reminiscent of a Hollywood film. Those factors make these games a wave of excitement just as great then as it is today and tomorrow.
