video game console, multiplayer games If you are a gamer or just someone who watches TV then there is a good chance you have seen the commercial attached below for Need for Speed: Shift. Released just about a month ago, it wasn’t until earlier this week that the demo finally became available on Xbox Live. Not sure if it was available sooner on other video game consoles but I do know seeing or should I say playing was believing. Trailers for movies and games can be light years different then the actual thing. If you have not played this one yet then you may be saying all those amazing looking graphics and intense race battles in the video below are overblown. They are not.

Not wanting to form an opinion until getting my hands on actual gameplay, I can now see this is an arcade racer imitating a simulation. This is not a bad thing especially for a franchise who has won the world over many times for their less then realistic race experiences. From a driving standpoint it feels really tight, the crashes border on real even though sometimes it feels like a car should flip into the air so easily it all just feeds to the arcade experience. The sound effects scream, graphics shine and action is more intense because of the arcade roots. This title is worth checking out on any video game console. I want to know what the multiplayer games are like.
