Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 for Xbox 360
Over the long evolution of the video game console, one of the most popular genre of games has been the first person shooter. I fell in love with this type of game back on the Nintendo 64 when Golden Eye came out. Man, have things changed since then. Golden Eye set a standard for FPS titles that have culminated in what we see today. If someone asked me what my favorite first person shooter of all time, on any video game console was, without a second thought I would answer, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. This franchise was a breath of fresh air in terms of cinematics and online multiplayer games in the FPS genre.
I am just as obsessed with MW2 as I was with Golden Eye back in the day. I think it will go down as the bestselling video game console shooter ever. Now I’m not naive enough to think another title, possibly MAG for PS3 down the road may not steal that crown but for the time being, how many other games can say they made over 500 million dollars in the first week of sales?
This title is rated mature and for good reason. If I were a parent, I would think twice about letting a little kid play it because there are some extremely violent missions in the career mode. I’m talking, wow never thought I would see something this intense kind of violence. By no means is it over done. I think all of the apocalyptic action was done tastefully just not something little kids should get to see.
There is a game option to cut out all of the brutal material. Doing this though will skip out on some groundbreaking levels for the sake of keeping it Pg-13. As a holiday gift, any mature gamer would enjoy Modern Warfare 2, which is exactly what popped into my head when running into it while looking around the Xbox 360 multiplayer games from Bolluck Mall at http://www.bolluckmall.com/.
Fans of this franchise, like myself probably remember controlling the high flying C-130 gunship in the original Modern Warfare during one nighttime level. It was awesome and in this one Infinity Ward created something even better found in the Spec Ops mini missions. Seen in the video above, only playable as multiplayer games, friends get a chance team up, one controlling the C-130 and the other running to a check point under the cover of some really intense gunship power. This is one of the coolest video game console experiences ever. Can’t wait to see more multiplayer games like this one.
